How to.... Simple, but a little time consuming

Things You Will Need

  1. 4.5 x 6.5 Cardstock paper
  2. Hole Punch. about 2x2 (i used a heart)
  3. Lid or anything round to trace (unless you have the template cutters, or a circle cutter which i would assume would be WAY easier to cut out circles and finding the centerpoint.)
  4. Brads of somesort for the middle. (some reason i like the ones you hammer, but again, would be less time consuming if you use the ones that you just bend back
  5. to cut the circles i used white cardstock and cut about a 5.5 x 5.5 circle

Now what to do...

Ok, what i did, was bought a few different packs of 4.5 x 5.5 cardstock paper that i liked. those come with 72 sheets, only 3 of the papers are designed the same so everyone really got a different paper. i used the more elegant or simple ones for the ones i know are a little bit "fancier" than others haha and the ones i didn't know (like on the fiance's side) and i used cute silly ones for friends and family

I went about an inch or so in from the side. (where about a half in. to a quarter in. of paper showing to the right of the hole punch) and punched a bunch of hearts out (which later then used those decorative hearts as confetti on the wedding tables.... or plan on doing when i get married in may)

Then, in my case, used a jar lid to trace circle on all my white cardstock. With a little help from my friends, cut out a bunch of circle. If you notice, there is a hole in my jar lid. I actually hammered a long, thick yarn need in the middle to let me know where the center of the circle was. (yeah, so much easier if you have a good circle cutter, etc.) all of my circles and centers WERE NOT perfect haha.

Next, I took my cardstock paper that i punched holes in and with my finger guessed the spot i should put the brad in by spinning the circle and made sure it went all the way around as even as possible, then hammered the brad in.

Lastly, i double sided sticky taped the picture on, and wrote on them all. i ended up outlining all the hearts, just so i didnt venture into the next heart with some information. I was able to fit 5 hearts on each paper, some 5 1/2, some 6.
I Labeled them.
  1. Andrew & Amanda's Wedding
  2. Save the Date!
  3. May 26, 2012

  5. PearcyAndEckburg.ourwedding.com
on the ones that had a bigger gap in between the last 2 hearts i put little things like "Hope you can make it" or "Hope to see you guys there!"
on others that you could see part of both hearts i put some circles inside the heart, and the other two hearts around it looked like part of the circles, and would put like a little MAY 26 in one of the circles.

You can personalize these any way you want. I didnt do many that were the same. It took me quite a while, but then again, i didnt have to many nifty tools with me. If anyone else does decide to make these i would love to see other renditions of it. I know they could be made really fancy as well as fun. or be used as invitations instead of save the dates. but i had fun with them. and i know that everything i think of someone had to have thought of it already, but i havent seen anything like it yet and got LOTS of compliments on it. Time well Spent.

P.S. Forgot to say, I HAD to put turn wheel, and the arrows on the side because the first 4 people i showed, 2 spun the wheel the wrong way, 1 didn't know that it spun and 1 totally got it and told the other 3 DUH! which i thought was needed but if those people didnt know, some others might not. got a way better response when i put TURN WHEEL with arrows. lame that they didnt know but who knows....
